Music: Love Lock Down...

Thanks to one of our favorite blogs "Asian Dan", here's an update on Kanye's Love Lockdown. Great Art work but as for the track, i think i enjoyed the VMA's live version a lot more. It was more soulful and less vocoderish, not that it's bad, but there's a time and place for everything, and this wasn't the case. Either way, we love this new direction Mr. West is taking...which I'm guessing will include a Justice produced track, because we read the future just like that.

Video: Kanye West is quitting Rap...

...Well not really but this little performance at the VMA's clearly shows that Mr. West is heading into Pop Stardom. It could perhaps be his Chicago background but I guarantee you this is gonna have at least 10 House remixes by the end of the month. No seriously, you wait and see. Video: Kanye West is a bear....good morning!

First a Muppet now a Bear. At this rate Kanye's about to fill the shoes Mr. Rogers left in the heart of all children. In any case the latest video from his album "Graduation" features a fantastic animation by Takashi Murakami, an artist often compared to Andy Warhol for his use of color and his understanding of pop culture. Over the years Murakami has gained notoriety for his bold anime-looking illustrations and a collaboration done with Louis Vuitton. At this point it's become pretty much a standard for Kanye to bring us the best when it comes to art, fashion and design. I wonder what's next on his plate...a clothing line called "Pastelle"? Maybe.

With Olympic Aspirations. Here's the new Video for Champion. I'm gonna guess he watched the opening ceremony, got an idea and had his people do a video in less than a week. But he's right....nothing compares to Olympic Bling.

...But I'm taken. Anyways, this song by Estelle is getting tons of airplay in Europe, but haven't heard it here yet. Have you? Man do I miss having cable. Either way, Kanye does his little rap thing here and there talking about his style and bla bla bla... it's so new and so fresh. Honestly Kanye, i'd be intrigued but i already spend most of the day on Hypebeast so you don't have to tell me what designers you're wearing. Well... enjoy the video. Cheerio

TV: In case you missed this....Kanye rocked the Grammys!!!

While we were out last night, we managed to miss the TV orgasm that was Kanye West with Daft Punk. Kudos though to Herbie Hancock for winning best album of the year but to me he'll always be better known for this. It's sad Kanye didn't win this category yet again, but then... neither did Amy "crack ain't wack" Winehouse. Either way...great performance even with the FCC friendly chopped up lyrics. And yes...bringing the French robots was such a classy move. Had they only thought of this when they played Coney island......awww that would have been like a boner on Viagra.
