It's no secret that Boston's Nightlife wouldn't be the same without Rise. When the lights are turned on at your local Bar, the lights and the music begin to blast at 306 Stuart Street. For a town where 2:15am usually means a Cab home, for the members of Rise it's just the continuation of a night to remember. To many the membership is not just an affiliation, but a family and a lifestyle...a place where Music always takes center stage. Annie Lennox once said: "Anyone and everyone has the capacity to respond to music. It's a gender-free, race-free, culture-free zone, reaching beyond those perceived divides. The power of music is a connective force."...This is exactly what Rise has always been about. Now on their 10th Anniversary, the Club welcomes 2009 with a calendar packed with globe-throttling DJs, and Boston's more recognizable talents. Friday, Jaunary 16: Toolroom Knights residency kickoff with Martijn Ten VeldenToolroom is a world-renown independent dance music label founded by DJ/producer Mark Knight, and based in the UK. They are lauded for releasing the chart-topping music that powers the world’s best nightclubs, including Knight's massive 2008 reworking of Laruent Garnier's classic, "The Man With The Red Face." This collaboration with RISE is among the imprints’ first efforts to expand their branding into the United States; it will bring to Boston some of the industry’s most highly regarded global electronic music artists. Netherland's Martijn Ten Velden kicks off the partnership, with an opening set by Boston’s Joe Bermudez, himself an award-winning DJ/producer with several Billboard top-10’s to his credit. Portsmouth, NH lives free with Marz Entertainment's Ryan Obermiller in the lounge.
