Music: Royalty of Witches?

Once upon a time there was a Royal Family of Witches...Here's the Queen:

...and Here's the King:

You might know Capracara from his previous work on Soul Jazz, but now on DFA it's kinda like the big leagues and frankly this new 12" does not disappoint. The Original is like Kraftwerk with more cow bell and a degree in House Music, but like on all DFA releases, it's an instant "flip it over" to the 45rpm side. Rub N Tug give "King of Witches" the disco re-rub and yes, it's good in case you were really wondering. Like Happy House...good luck finding a copy if you sleep on it. So you know the drill, head over to turntablelab (or Newbury Comics) and grab it while you can. This one's Manifest Destitute Guaranteed...

Capracara - King of Witches (Age of Steam Edit)

ps: Speaking of Rub N Tug, they did a killer mix for Tim Sweeney's Beats in Space a couple of Days ago. If their debut album is as good as their remixes and edits, then i think we'll have a best of 2009 in the works...Listen to their BIS Set Here!

Music: I’m a Cliché...has a moment of crisis

Photobucket
To Celebrate the first 5 years of I’m a Cliché, the french label is releasing a compilation entitled "Moment Of A Crisis". The first CD, called Overtime, features all the tracks that make this label so revered, such as ‘The Mighty Atom’ by Simian Mobile Disco, ‘Everywhere in Town’ by Yuksek, ‘Crashed Cadillac’ by Bot’Ox,‘Putting in the Overtime’ by Runaway and ‘Delayer’ by Cosmo Vitelli. The second CD, ‘Holiday’ is all about brand new tracks exclusive to this compilation. It’s a journey through musical genres, from radical rock’n’roll (The Fear, side project of Milo Smee from English weirdos Chrome Hoof) to Surf Music (‘Purple and Green’ by Electronicat or ‘Grease’ by It’s A Fine Line, side project of Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris). Dance floors wont be left behind. The Aussies from The Canyons, the brand new Modular and DFA artist, deliver the killer ‘Blue Snake’, while the New Yorkers Runaway hit us with ‘Your League’, crafted with the same dub-house feel that made last year’s Rekids/DFA release a hit. Don't miss the huge ‘Hungry for the Power’ by Azari & III, a proper hit this year for sure. Now enjoy this little video...

Video: I feel Love?

We feel the love!

Music: Lindstrom hearts Prins Thomas!

Photobucket
These two need no introduction. Their work over the years speaks for itself and if you ever heard the word Cosmic Disco, then you've hear of them. "Some three years ago the label Eskimo Recordings/N.E.W.S unveiled their debut album capturing the hearts and minds of the global music community, received superlative reviews across the world and catapulted the pair into the limelight". Now on their second album, Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas "join forces for yet another venture into italo, krautrock and disco-influenced productions alongside the production spark genius that defined those halcyon releases of the post disco/punk era". Seriously, the press release sounded amazing...and from listening to the preview, the album is sick. It might not be club friendly and it might not call for ass bumping, but if you are into psychedelic experiences, then Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas will personally hold your hand and take you into that journey. (Seriously...I've seen them, they are Scandinavian-it's cool there.) Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas' "II" out May 18 on Eskimo.

Film: WTF!!!

WTF!!! That's it. That's all I had to say....
