Video: In Flagranti - Worse for Wear

In flagranti are always on point. From the Impressive Vintage NYC visuals to the heavily sampled and inspired compositions, their work is always a treat (well...at least for us). Their new album, ‘Worse For Wear’, will be out April 4th on Codek and we will be on the look out for the singles to come out of this. Yes...Yes.

Music: Gimme Gimme

This new release on Swiss Label Relish teams up Headman with Yello's legendary Deiter Meier for a post modern Disco gem. With some quite incredible remixes (including one by Daniel Wang), It is Brooklyn's In Flagranti that brings up the noise creating a disco-house monster that could Have easily fit into DAft Punk's repertoire circa 1997. This one here will be playing loud this winter. Believe it now.

Music: In Flagranti are Brash & Vulgar...really?

If you've read this blog enough, you know we are crazy about In Flagranti. From spaced-out tunes to tweaked-out edits, the Brooklyn Euro-Duo has been pumping out more material than a stand up comic...and we love it. Out now on Codek is their newest LP entitled "Brash & Vulgar" which is pretty much an amalgamation of evrything that's hot right now. There's Disco & Boogie for you Edit Lovers...there's House for y'all Trax revivalists. There's Italo and Cosmic for you geeks, and even Break Beats for the Robot Breakers. Shit...Even some Electro (for your neon-loving-shutter shade-ed banger lovin'-hipster)...no joke. A little rock for your skin-tight jeans friends, and a little post punk for the music snobs. Anyways, this much music probably sounds like someone's Bipolar (hehe) but truly, it's actually a real cohesive album. Let me explain...this album is like roaming around Brooklyn trying to find a party to go to...you end walking and texting people for hours... You keep getting to your "friend of a friend's" loft when the booze is gone and then you start all over again. At the end of the night (in the morning) after bitching and moaning about how you kept going from one party to the other, you realize you had a really good time, and that is always nice. That my friends is "Brash & Vulgar". So...Pick it out now from the usual spots...you know, like this one. And if you haven't got their 12" on RVNG of the Nrds, I would get it soon. Check out the crazy Edit of "I Was Made For Lovin' You" by Kiss. You know you want it.

Music: Holy Ghosts Batman!!! (a year later)

When we first started this blog a little more than a year ago, we knew instantly that they were gonna be up to big things. Now that 2008 is gone The Brooklyn duo left the year with some outstanding remixes on their shoulders. Holy Ghost! will without a doubt be the act on DFA to look out for in 2009 (....along with Runaway of course). Check out some of what they brought us in 2008 (you'll be impressed!!!):

Music: I was caught In Flagranti!!! (Meaow)

...No not really but we did catch the In Flagranti bug and we can't rub it off. The Brooklyn duo has been making some really contemporary Disco at a time when the Disco Edit and retro vibes reign Supreme. No wonder the duo of Disco Virtuosos has been recently signed to Kitsune for the release of their 12" Single "Business Acumen"....and While Kitsune's been slacking lately, this release puts them back on track (at least for the time being) not to mention they've got Holy Ghosts to do a remix. Don't be fooled though, In Flagranti has been releasing material for years out of the label Codek and their Arsenal is strong enough to start a revolution. And If you read the Big Stereo Blog religiously like i do, you might have caught In flagranti's live set at Infatuation (from last May). if not, well here you go. "Business Acumen" out now on Kitsune. (Buy it here!)
